Residents of Kagwa Village in Siaya County were left in shock after two suspected M-pesa thieves eat grass for allegedly stealing Kshs 45000 from an M-pesa Kiosk

According to Victoria Achieng, she sought the help of a witch doctor after the duo made away with Kshs 45000 from her M-pesa kiosk.

Victoria said she had been pleading with the two suspects two return back the money but the duo declined prompting her to seek the help of a witchdoctor from Kisumu County.

“It was at around 8pm on Friday June 3,2021 the two came to deposit money from my Kiosk and then stole Kshs 45000 from my desk without my knowledge. I've pleaded with them several times to return back the money but they refused and i decided to seek the help of a witch doctor,” Victoria said.

Shocked residents thronged the scene witnessing how the duo eat grass.

The locals blame police negligence, saying the act of seeking a witchdoctor was the last option, adding that police officers have failed to deal with such culprits.

Bondo Sub-County Police commander Patrick Amollo who confirmed the incident said that they are aware of the latest incident.

"The unbelievable incident took place in Kagwa Village. The two are alleged to have stolen Kshs 45000 from an M-pesa Kiosk but failed to return back. We deployed two officers in the area to investigate the matter," Patrick said.

Mr Patrick said the latest incident serves as a lesson to teach the rest of the thieves in the village.
