Jurgen Klopp led Liverpool team were in action yesterday in their third match of the UEFA champions league Group B ties against Atletico Madrid at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

The Reds were very brilliant in the game as they were able to seal the whole three points of the night which placed them at the top of the table with 100% winning rate so far in the competition, having won all their first three openers.

Liverpool in the game scored two straight goals in the first half before forfeiting the double lead as Antoine Griezmann's brace in the 20th and 34th minutes of the game cancelled out Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita's early lead, to make it two all draw going into the half time break.

This was the first time Liverpool have both scored and conceded twice in the first half of a UEFA Champions League match.

The tempo of the game in the second half got heated up as they both put up some physical, tactical and technical displays despite the Diego Simeone's side been reduced to 10-men after their goal scorer, Antoine Griezmann was sent off following his challenge against Roberto Firmino.

None was able to found the back of the net until the 78th minute when Mohamed Salah was able to give his side the lead via penalty as he put the ball away from the spot to make it three goals to two.

After every other attempts from both sides to add more to the tally of the night, all proved abortive as it ended three goals to two at full time.

With the hard-fought victory for the Merseyside club yesterday against the Rojiblancos, they are now the second premier league team to achieve this feat, following the step of Chelsea.

Only two English teams have beaten Atletico Madrid away from home in the Champions League:

- Chelsea

- Liverpool.

Liverpool sitting at the top of the table with 9 points in 3 games played will now be hoping to keep the winning streaks going in their next fixture, so as to continue their pursuit in the competition.
