Can He Tell Us He Has No Interest In Succeeding Akuffo-Addo? - Kwasi Pratt

Media stalwart, editor-in-chief of the Insight newspaper and member of the CPP, Kwesi Pratt Junior has waded into the ongoing conversation about who represents the NPP in the 2024 elections after President Akuffo-Addo's mandate has expired. Camps have been formed already for the promotion of candidates which is generating momentum.

Posters of Dr. Bawumia, Alan Kyeremateng and a host of others aspirants have popped up on social media and in some parts of the country. The Agriculture minister is alleged to have held a meeting at his residence in Kumasi to declare his intention of contesting the internal party primaries. His actions triggered reactions from Gabby Asare Otchere Darko and Chairman Freddie Blay entreating all those with Presidential ambitions to shelve them and support the government to succeed.

National chairman of the NPP advised the Veep and the Trade Minister to put out statements if they are not behind the growing campaigns for them. In a letter signed by the aide to the Dr. Bawumia, it stated the Veep has no hand and has not tasked any group to do so.

Responding to the statement on the Alhaji and Alhaji show on Pan Africa TV today, Kwasi Pratt said, the denial statement from the outfit of the Veep is preposterous and has no value. "Can Dr. Bawumia tell us he has no interest in succeeding Nana Akuffo-Addo? He has positioned himself to succeed the President. He cannot deny because the ambition is there and it began 8 years ago. Can he also tell us if he is offered the position, he will decline it? Can he say he has not met anybody to discuss or interact with anybody who wants to promote his ambitions? Then what is the value of his denial".

He again said, both Bawumia and Alan Kyeremateng should focus on making Ghana work again because it is on President Akuffo-Addo's legacy they will campaign.
