Kaizer Chiefs is still working on getting a few faces within the January transfer window and they've came across challenges. By this time you'd think Chiefs could have unveiled a player or two that will join the camp during the second half of the 2021/22 season. Amakhosi haven't been lucky thus far as they’re most targeting players that are tied up in contracts with their teams. This makes the negotiations difficult as the other teams will request for a transfer fee, otherwise, Chiefs might not get the player. Unless they table a better offer that other teams cannot refuse which has always been Chiefs problem as they don't like paying over R10 million for players. In most cases they sign free agents which they end up regretting as the players don't live up to high expectations.
The Phefeni Glamour Boys are believed to be interested in the services of Marumo Gallant star Katlego Otladisa this transfer window. However, they've been discouraged by his agent in terms of the move happening this season. By the looks of things Amakhosi will have have to revisit this deal within pre-season. All these transfer reports have been messing with his focus.
According to Otladisa's representative Nimrod Mbhalati, the deal isn't possible in January, but Chiefs need to talk to Gallants after the season. All that's needed for the former Mamelodi Sundowns star is to focus on his football within the Limpopo-based side and contribute whenever he's within the pitch. "What I want now, is for him to enjoy his football for now. I mean the poor boy has been out of the system now, so let’s give him space to enjoy his football without all these distractions.Anyway whoever wants his service must contact Marumo Gallants at least at the end of the season, maybe something can be done. But for now, I would like him to focus more on playing to assist his team, to get more assists and goals and maybe a national team call up, then we [are] fine," said Mbhalati speaking to the media.
