Uhuru Kenyatta Is 'Regretting' His Decision To Dump William Ruto For Raila Odinga, This Is Why

On 30th January 2018, former prime minister Raila Odinga sworn himself in as the peoples president. This is after his huge following at the time staged weekly demonstrations against Uhuru's government which they termed as illegitimate after the supreme court initially overturned his re-election in an historical ruling.

On 9th March 2018, president Uhuru Kenyatta surprisingly went into a peaceful co-existence agreement famously alias Handshake with his rival Raila Odinga hoping to end the nation's political woes.

However, this marked the dawn of another tough political cold war with his deputy who was not impressed by the decision. This has since led to president Uhuru losing grip of his political strongholds at the expense of his deputy. This is evident from recent by-elections in Msambweni, Rurii and Juja among others where William Ruto's preferred candidates won against Uhuru's Jubilee candidates.

President Uhuru may now be regretting dumping his deputy for Raila Odinga, who is now giving him sleepless nights by piling pressure on him to ensure BBI passes before the 2022 general election.
