All teachers across Ghana are to go through a three to four basic ICT training on the use of laptop before being issued.
In a letter addressed to all regional directors of the Ghana Education Service and signed by its deputy director general in charge of Management Services, Anthony Boateng, the decision is to equip teachers on the use of the various e-learning resources contained in the laptops.
The letter which is dated 8th February,2021 says the workshop is going have three sessions a day and one is obliged to join any of them. The first session starts from 2pm to 4pm, second session is from 4pm to s6pm and last session is from 6pm to 8pm.
Teachers are informed in the letter that they will receive points for Continuous Professional Development and certificates upon successfully completing and being assessed after the workshop.
The workshop according to the letter,is organized by the Ghana Education Service (GES) in collaboration with KA Technologies and Microsoft. The said workshop is expected to commence from 16th February,2022.
The issue of teachers laptops has been in the news for quite a while now. While teachers of the country's senior high schools have received theirs, their colleagues at the basic level are still waiting to be issued their own.
