Despite the tragedy of Boko Haram, UNIMAID is the highest ranked university in Nigeria in 2019

According to the report, UNIMAID has been critical of other universities across the country in the wake of the Boko Haram insurgency. Last year, the university awarded 12,523 scholarships to the 11,665 students it offered in 2018.

The university is located just outside the city of Maiduguri, near Bama, where the Boko Haram terrorist network has been intensified for years. Reports have confirmed that the University not escape from the attacks of Boko Haram, while the group vowed hatred and Boko education.

The organization has killed tens of thousands of people and repatriated millions of refugees in northern Nigeria. In 2017, a university bombing raid raided the university, killing four people, including a teacher , Professor Aliyu Mani, and one of the attackers.

However, when contacted by reporters, the university's public relations officer, Ahmed Muhammed, said more students wanted to study at the university because of security concerns.

He added, "back to the security and put the security forces , university itself set her security of vigilante hunters to provide security in the school."

"And if you have no evidence of who you are you won't be allowed to go to the university."
