LINCOLN V SUNDERLAND
Lincoln hardly prepared for the playoffs in ideal circumstances having failed to win any of their previous three League One matches, which resulted in a fifth-placed finish. The Imps were thumped 4-0 by Sunderland meeting back in December and will be desperately looking to end their six-game wait for a home victory having finished the season in wretched form at Cincil Bank.
Sunderland's season hardly ended any better, with their top-two hopes going up in flames following a seven-match winless run in April. The Black Cats are unbeaten in two, but must perform far better over the two legs to avoid a fourth consecutive year at League One level.
Prediction: Both teams to score
UTRECHT V GRONINGEN
FC Utrecht ended the regular season with a home record that boasted six wins and seven draws across 17 outings.
Ajax, Emmen, Vitesse and Feyenoord were the only away sides to leave Stadion Galgenwaard with all three points.
Groningen snatched a point from the jaws of victory when they visited Utrecht in January 2021. Patrick Joosten and Jorgen Strand Larsen put them in front before Bart Ramselaar and Gyrano Kerk completed the comeback.
Danny Buijs' men go into this week's game having won just one of their previous six away matches, which includes four losses.
Prediction: Utrecht win
