Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has hit another milestone as he has become the first artiste to hit 100 million streams on the music platform, Boomplay.
Burna Boy is directly followed by Nigerian musicians Olamide and Fireboy DML. Burna Boy gained 29 million streams with his album, African Giant and subsequently garnered a million views with his album, Twice As Tall a few hours after its release.
However, the album has gained 45 million new streams on the platform, adding up to all the streams he gained in the previous months, he has been noted as the first to amass such a number of streams on the platform.
About a month ago, Burna Boy emerged as the winner of the Best Global Music Album of the year at the 2021 Grammy Awards. He battled it out with some keynote personalities in the industry to be crowned the winner. This made him the first Nigerian to ever win a Grammy Award.
