The Assemblyman for Charingu electoral area, Honourable Issahaku Fuseini has bemoaned the sudden rise in the stealing of animals, especially cattle in his electoral area located within the Wa East District of Upper West Region.

The Assembly Man, Issahaku during an interaction, said that within a period of two months, more than twelve cows have been stolen from the Charingu community.

He therefore called on residents of all the communities around Charingu, especially Kadoli, Yibile, Busa, Jonga and their environs to be wary of this development and report to him or the police if they see any suspicious animal being carried from these areas, even if the said animals are killed.

Honourable Issahaku also stated that he and his unit committee members, together with residents of Charingu are planning to stop any person from buying or selling livestock in the community in the night and the buyers would always have to pass through the unit committee to buy a cow or any livestock in the community. Processes for this bye-law to be enforced, is underway as he is yet to meet the police for a document to be prepared on this bye-law.
