Another Looming Headache To Yattani As MP Masaka Tables A Motion On The Legality Of Leasing Mumias


The tussle for the struggling famous known as Mumias sugar company has taken a new twist. The company is at its knees after the management embezzled all the coins leaving the company in the ICU. Most of Luhya's leaders have been giving the company a deaf ear. For quite some time the company has been used by the politicians to show their masculinity in Luhya politics.

All is not well with farmers whose livelihood was depending on the Mumias company. A few days ago, a farmer in Mumias held a demonstration in demanding answers, after allegations emerged on leasing of Mumias, which was halted by the politicians.

Member of parliament honorable Masaka Benard has tabled a bill in the Parliament over the leasing of Mumias sugar company. The MP Basaka has questioned the Cabinet secretary honorable Ukur Yattani to explained the alleged leasing of Mumias Sugar company.

MP Masaka has questioned the following as posted by Mzalendo

"i) Could the CS explain the circumstances surrounding the planned leasing of Mumias Sugar Company by the Kenya Commercial Bank Group and its appointed receiver-manager."
