While addressing the nation on Sunday night: South African president Cyril Ramaphosa alluded to the fact that the there are ongoing discussions about the possible introduction of mandatory vaccination. This revelations has sparked a lot of debate amongst many South African well known personalities.
And one of the people who have weighed in this matter of mandatory vaccination is none other than Rev Kenneth Meshoe. Kenneth Meshoe doesnt need introduction because he is widely known across the country. Taking to Twitter, Meshoe has pointed out that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa should be reminded that he is not above the law and or the constitution.
According to Kenneth Meshoe, the parliament will have to first debate about the issue of mandatory vaccination in parliament before the government can implement it.
In his own words, Kenneth Meshoe stated the following on his official Twitter account:
"By law, a policy of mandatory vaccinations cannot be implemented by govt until Parliament has dealt with the matter. President @CyrilRamaphosa should be reminded that he is neither above the law, nor is he above the SA constitution"
It must be remembered that late last week reports emerged which indicated that a new variant has been detected in South Africa.
