Two bodaboda riders hacked to death on Sunday morning by unknown men and their bodies dumped in open field in Kisii County.
The lifeless bodies of the duo were found by the members of the public who informed the security officers.
Kisii County Police Commander who confirmed the incident said the two might have been killed by armed men who later left the bodies at the scene.
"We suspect the two might have been killed by unknown men and their bodies left there. We moved the bodies to the nearby for postmortem," he said.
Locals attributed the latest killings to the rising incidents of insecurity in the area.
Police said two insurance cetificates and helmets were found hidden behind the bush few distance from the crime scene.
"We found two insurance certificates together with two helmets from the nearby bush," read the statement from the police.
The authorities are now urging the members of the public to volunteer any suspicious information that can lead to the apprehension of the perpetrators behind the killings.
Meanwhile, police investigations are underway.
