Rivers State community sets to honour her indigenes during Egbema World Congress


Rivers State is Rich in culture and overtime, has produced notable men and women who have done notable things both in the country and the world at large.

The State has about 23 Local Government Areas. Each Local Government are known for their percularlity in doing one thing or the other. Of course, Egbema Local Government Area known for their agricultural produce.

Honestly, in recent years, Egbema has been regarded as one of the peaceful place in the State and the country at large. Now, the stage is set as the count down begins to honour some sons and daughters of the area the event tagged; "Egbema World Congress."

According to the information made available, the event is organised by a group known as "Ogbako Egbema," a Social-Cultural body in the Ancient Egbema Kingdom of Rivers State and Imo State through its national leader and the former Inspector General of Police, Sir (Dr.) Mike Okiro, CFR, NPM, MNI, FMR.

Sources said the event will see some indigenes of the LGA honoured during the Congress which will see people from all walks of life be in attendance. Some of the highlight of the event include: Award presentation, Egbema cultural display, launching of Egbema cultural complex, amongst other things that will characterize the eventful day.

The Egbema Cultural World Congress is scheduled to hold on April 3, 2021 by 9:00am at the Umuorji Town Hall premises in Egbema LGA, Rivers State.
