Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly To Be Honoured With Club Of The Year Award
Date: Monday, 29 November
South African born and bred talented head coach Pitso Mosimane, has made a great impression with Mamelodi Sundowns, as he led the PSL club to many league title wins and a CAF Champions league title, and when the opportunity of taking charge of Egyptian Premier league giants Al Ahly came knocking, Mosimane opened his door to be part of the club of the century.
Pitso Mosimane became an instant hit with Al Ahly in his maiden season in which he won the CAF Champions league, Egyptian Premier league, and the Egypt Cup titles. Pitso Mosimane did not stop there as he won the CAF Supercup title and a second CAF Champions league title when Al Ahly won last seasons final against South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs.
Pitso Mosimane unfortunately fell short in points with Al Ahly last season in the Egyptian Premier league, as Zamalek won the title as Pitso Mosimane failed to add one more title to his resumé. Al Ahly also failed to win the Egyptian Supercup when they went down after a disaster penalty shootout. Last time around in the club world cup Al Ahly went down and out as Bayern Munich destroyed them in the prestigious world tournament in which only the best clubs in the world gets to compete, but at least they made it to a third place finish.
The next Club World Cup is almost here, and already the predictions are that Al Ahly and Chelsea would meet in the final. It has now come to light that Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly and Manchester United, along with Manchester City has been nominated for Club of the year. The Globe Soccer Awards started in 2010 and was organised by the European Club Association together with European Association of Player's Agents.
Al Ahly has already won the award for Top Title Winners of the Middle East in 2020, and now stand the chance of being awarded the title of Club of the year.
