Fourth placed Lincoln hold a four point cushion over the Play-Off chasers and the Imps can solidify their position in the top six against Shrewsbury this week.
Michael Appleton’s side are finishing the season strongly and won three league matches on the bounce prior to Saturday’s 1-2 defeat at home to leaders Hull City.
That result was no disgrace all things considered, and the Imps have to be fancied for their midweek trip to Shropshire after winning 12 of their 20 starts on the road this term (D5, L3).
16th placed Shrewsbury are 19 points inferior to their opponents in the table and while they pinched a 0-1 victory in December’s reverse fixture, it’s hard to envisage a repeat this time around based on Lincoln’s form and the fact that the hosts have lost three of their last four here.
The Shrews have netted in all but four of their 20 home fixtures though and can get themselves on the scoresheet, so we’re also going for a 1-2 correct score prediction in favour of the visitors.
Prediction:Lincoln city to win.
The hosts have scored an average of 1.38 goals while the visitors have scored an average of 1.79 goals.
Prediction:Napoli to win.
