Multi-billion Deal That Made Classmates President Uhuru And Billionaire Jimi Wanjigi To Become Foes


President Uhuru Kenyatta and Billionaire Jimi Wanjigi were once best friends before turning into foes. It is evident that Jimi Wanjigi has been playing a very huge role in Kenyan politics despite the fact that he has never contested for any political seat. The two are age mates by the way and were classmates at St Marys School whereby they both played rugby.

The relationship between the two started longtime ago whereby the father of Jimi, Maina Wanjigi was a close associate of President Jomo Kenyatta thus saw young Uhuru to be close friends with young Wanjigi. However over the years ever since Uhuru Kenyatta became the President, the relationship between the two has gone sour.

This has time and again seen Jimi Wanjigi to sponsor and fund Raila Odinga's bid to run for Presidency. Well, what made the relationship between Jimi Wanjigi and Uhuru Kenyatta to go south? According to Standard Nation, a 327 Billion Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Mombasa to Nairobi made the two to become enemies.

This was before the 2013 General elections whereby President Uhuru Kenyatta made it clear that he was to snatch this mouth-watering deal from Wanjigi once he became the President. In return, with an aim to save this tender, Jimi Wanjigi had to support Raila Odinga for Presidency in 2013 presidential elections all with an aim to secure this deal once Agwambo became the President.

This however never happened as Raila lost to Uhuru thus making Wanjigi to also loose this SGR multibillion deal. This saw Jimi Wanjigi with aim for a revenge to also support Raila Odinga against President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto in 2017 presidential elections but also lost
