Martha Karua's party has presented Muriithi Kagai as their candidate while Jubilee party has the incumbent senator Hon Charles Kibiru as its candidate.

These two are expected to reach a consensus so that one of them drops his candidature.

According to Ndambiri, who is the running mate of Kibiru, Narc Kenya should leave the gubernatorial seat owing to the fact that the party already enjoys having the coalition's running mate.Carry your own cross, Ndambiri tells Waiguru over graft claims

He also holds that Kirinyaga is widely a Jubilee party zone hence they should be given the chance to field their candidate Charles Kibiru.

''In Kirinyaga, Narc-Kenya is basking in glory after Odinga picked Karua as his deputy. Jubilee is the bigger party in the region but we have nothing. Therefore, the gubernatorial seat should be ours,'' said Ndambiri.
