Very known artist Big Zulu believes he has changed the hip-hop industry, Big Zulu, which was revealed to be nominated in ten categories at the South African Hip Hop Awards on Monday night.
Big Zulu was nominated for Song of the Year and three songs, Best Collaboration for three songs, and was nominated for Album of the Year, Best Male, Best Video and MVP.
At the event it was announced that he would be honored with the Ubuntu Activism award at the event. the event has 9 categories will be voted on, including Song Of The Year, Best Collaboration, Best Video, Best Male, Best Female, Best Radio Show, Best Remix, Artist of the Decade and Best International Act.
“When I came to this profession, people didn't believe in the music I made. Some were telling me that the way my music is is like a maskandi, so I would never have a name in hip hop and I wasted this kind of music by singing in a strong isiZulu language. That made me not weak but I believed I would do what I believe in, look where I am now, ”said Big Zulu.
He said he was very happy to be nominated in so many categories for the event so now they need to work.
“My fans who I call Nkabi Nation are the ones who put me where I am now. The team I work with has worked hard with it to get us to where we are now. All we have to do is keep working hard and ask people to vote for me and bring back all the medals, as we have received the first one before we even started voting, ”he concluded.
Voting is open and will close on November 26.
The main event will be on December 4th.
