For instance, Covenant of God was the one represented an agreement between the people of Israel and God.

Ark of covenant has some impact or consequences depending on how it maybe maintained. A covenant may result negative that is pademic or even punishment if it suffers carelessness or disrespect from either of the party and the vise versa is true. Anger of God due to disrespect of the covenant may result to fear in some people or even leaders of high honor in the village.

Covenant resulted not only blessings to the Israelites but also a punishment to them. This emanate from the book of law authored by experts who were inspired by God. The following are evidences from the scriptures on the anger of God to Philistines and Israelites due to disrespect of his Ark.

After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod and they carried the ark into Dagon's temple and set it beside Dagon.

      1Samuel 5:1.....

“ ........4 But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained.   ......5 That is why to this day neither the priests of Dagon nor any others who enter Dagon's temple at Ashdod step on the threshold.”

Philistines brought the Ark in Kiriath Jearim where the Ark killed many of Israelites. “ 1Samuel 7:2 It was a long time, twenty years in all, that the ark remained at Kiriath Jearim, and all the people of Israel mourned and sought after the LORD.”

When David and his thirty thousand chosen able men of Israelites had to bring up the Ark of Covenant of God from the house of Abinadab in Baalah of Judah.

      2Sa 6:1....

“ .....6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled.  .....7 The LORD'S anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down and he died there beside the ark of God.   .......8 Then David was angry because the LORD'S wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.”

This led David an honored leader to be afraid of the Ark  ........9 David was afraid of the LORD that day and said, "How can the ark of the LORD ever come to me?"

The Ark of God was not only a punishment to the people but also a blessing.

“2Samuel 6:11 The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the LORD blessed him and his entire household.”

So people should respect God's Covenant for the best results.
