Former Kotoko and AshantiGold left back back, Eric Donkor has ruled out the effect of “black magic” in tough games.
AshantiGold will host Kotoko on match-day eleven at the Len Clay Stadium.
Spiritualism is most associated with games of this nature but Donkor who has featured for both sides believes hard work is the key to winning such games.
“Personally I don’t believe in that as a professional player.
“If you work and train hard, I think anything aside from that is a waste of time.
“As for prayers I pray a lot before games.
“I am from a Christian home so I don’t joke with prayers.
“But if you don’t train hard before games, you can’t perform, that’s the issue.” Eric Donkor said.
AshantiGold have struggled in their last two games in the ongoing league.
They were held to a goalless draw at home by Medeama on match-day nine.
They traveled to Accra against Legon Cities FC where they lost 5-2 on match-day 10.
They have 16 points seated 3rd on the league table.
Asante Kotoko equally have 16 points from 10 games and occupy 5th on the league table.
A win for each side will boost a quest for title chase.
