Another COVID-19 Patient Dies in Machakos

Another COVID-19 patient has succumbed to the deadly disease in Machakos.

The 72 year old man was undergoing treatment at Machakos level five before his death.

According to a statement by Machakos health boss Ancent Kituku, the man was also suffering from kidney failure and was undergoing dialysis.

Kituku said that the man will be buried on Monday in his home in Kakuyuni village, Kangundo sub county.

Officers from the ministry of health will help in ensuring the deceased is given a befitting burial in line with Moh protocols.

"Good evening, I can confirm that we lost a 72 year old male patient to Covid-19. He had kidney failure and was undergoing dialysis at Machakos level 5 hospital," said Kituku.

"Burial is scheduled for tomorrow in Kakuyuni, Kwanzui village. Our public health officers will help the bereaved family to give the departed a decent send-off as per MoH protocols," added Kituku.

The patient joins the list of tens of patients who have died from the deadly virus in Machakos county since the outbreak of the disease.

Kituku urged residents to take caution and know that they are not out of the woods yet.

He warned them against going back to their old days and forget about taking precautions.

The health boss called for frequent hand washing, maintaining social distance and staying at home if possible precautions

This comes at a time when the country is recording many cases in a day.
