A medical expert, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adewale has again stressed the need to enforce the use of nose masks if government really want to curb further spread of COVID-19 pandemic ravaging Ondo state and Nigeria.
Dr Adewale said it is not enough to have the masks as decorative apparatus rather it should be used in the public as directed in order to reduce the spread of the disease particularly the community transmission.
The medical expert noted that many are using the masks even if they are dirty with no regard to personal hygiene stressing that this might lead to another sickness.
He therefore counseled the public to have about two or more to avoid contacting diseases which are associated with poor hygiene.
Dr Adewale condemned the act of keeping nose masks in hand bags only to show security agents or when going to transact business in banks.
In the same vein, Chief Awesu Seriki from Akungba Akoko urged government to make enforcement of masks in Ondo state a strict business as the scourge of the pandemic is now becoming worrisome and having some negative effects on socio-economic activities of the state.
Chief Awesu stressed the importance of personal hygiene as another way of keeping healthy from diseases.
He urged corporate bodies and well to do individuals to provide nose masks and distribute them freely to the people as a way to complement government’s efforts in bringing down the rise in the spread of corona virus pandemic.
