The Daily Nation reports that a meeting that happened between President Uhuru Kenyatta and five key political leaders at statehouse last week resolved that the five work together for the benefit of the nation and to stop his deputy from ascending to power.
Those present during the meeting included, Gideon Moi, Charity Ngilu, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and ODM leader Raila Odinga. The strategy that was recommended by all the leaders was to block the deputy president from their regions where he was continued to gain influence and stamp his authority.
Last year Uhuru Kenyatta revealed that his choice for presidency in 2022 will shock many. He further reiterated that he will give power to a thief something that many perceive was largely directed to his Deputy William Ruto. Ruto on the other hand has insisted that nobody owes him and that he will go th the people to seek vote.
The coming up of the six leaders who are pro-BBI might dent Ruto’s ambitions of becoming president since they have the support of the state and might see them manipulate votes in their area. Political pundits believe Ruto might have slim chances against the six.
