With Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said to be looking for an escape route from the controversy-dogged Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance, the ODM party axis is literally begging the former Vice President to reconsider his decision.
The former Vice President is said to be headed to court to officially kick off the process that will see him withdraw from the coalition amid reports that he is set to go it alone in the presidential race.
But according to Prof. Makau Mutua, the Spokesperson of the Raila Odinga campaign secretariat, it is their wish to see Kalonzo remain in the coalition.
While speaking during an interview on KTN News, Prof Mutua exuded confidence that, being a man of principles, Kalonzo will not make good his threat to decamp from the Azimio la Umoja coalition.
According to the Raila campaign secretariat spokesperson, Kalonzo could getting bad advice from his key lieutenants who could be pushing for his withdrawal from Azimio.
The development comes at a time Raila is expected to name his running mate on Monday even as Kalonzo's allies insist that it is the deputy position for their man or else they "go back to factory settings".
