Ghana Premier League top scorer Yaw Annor has officially joined Egyptian side Ismaily for Two Hundred Thousand Dollars, $200,000. The prolific scorer has left AshantiGold after an impressive display at the end of 2021/22 season.
In a picture shared by his new club Ismaily, Yaw Annor was spotted with club official of Ismaily. They were seen exchanging pleasantries in an office. In another picture, Yaw Annor is seen with Ismaily official and AshantiGold President Dr. Kwaku Frimpong.
Yaw Annor scored 22 goals to complete the just ended season as the goal king. Before netting two goals on the final day of the season against Bibiani Gold Stars, the former Bechem United winger was trailing Asante Kotoko top scorer Frank Etouga by a goal. The inability of Frank Etouga to have scored a goal on Saturday meant he ends the season with 21 goals. The gave some respite for Yaw Annor to run past Frank Etouga after bagging brace the following day.
At the end of the season, host of clubs were rumored to have expressed explicit desire to acquire the signature of the speedster. Asante Kotoko were on the verge of wrapping up a deal for Yaw Annor, reports have noted. Accra Hearts of Oak were weighing options of going for Yaw Annor as he became the toast of fans and some club officials.
As he has joined Ismaily of Egypt, this will definitely put to rest weeks of speculation about the next destination of goal poacher. AshantiGold will need to hunt for a like to like replacement.
