Despite all efforts to control and eliminate the most popular virus of the decade, Covid-19 the world has finally accepted the fact that the virus is here to stay and steps are already being made to manage the deadly virus as the likes of malaria and chicken pox.
But before total control can be made, ignorance will only lead to more casualties, four of which the ministry of health recently reported in addition to about a hundred thousand deaths in South Africa alone.
South Africa has registered 1,420 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, with a total of 3,722,065 infected, positive percentage of 5.4%. There may be a backlog of reported deaths from COVID-19 due to the ongoing review by the National Department of Health (NDoH). Yesterday, the NDoH reported four deaths, two of which occurred in the last 24 to 48 hours.
The four new deaths have brought the total number of deaths since the pandemic to 100,046.

The majority of new cases came from Gauteng (39%), followed by the Western Cape (25%). KwaZulu-Natal contributed 20%; Eastern Cape accounts for 5%; Mpumalanga contributed 4%; Northwest accounted for 3%; Freestate accounted for 2% and Limpopo and Northern Cape each with 1%.
Meanwhile, in other countries around the World, worser situation have been reported.
Around 4.9 million people in the UK are estimated to have had Covid-19 in the week to March 26, or 600,000 more than the previous week, according to a new study from the Office for National Statistics. Nearly all of Shanghai's 25 million residents were ordered to stay at home on Saturday as parents fear being separated from their children if they test positive for Covid-19.
Brazil on Saturday relaxed pandemic restrictions on international travelers, suspended Covid-19 test requirements for vaccinated passengers and removed lengthy health questionnaires.
If care is not taken, South Africa's Covid-19 situation might get out of hands and lead to the deaths of thousands. From reports, the numbers of cases and deaths are being under reported. Now imagine what a full scale outbreak will cause.
