In the earlier stages, he joined hands with the likes of Martha Karua, Jerotich Seii, David Ndii and Boniface Mwangi to form Linda Katiba, which vowed to campaign against the BBI. He even went to the Supreme Court to challenge the BBI.

However, in February 2021, he stated that a public participation by the County Assembly of Makueni showed that the people wanted the BBI, he therefore joined hands with Raila Odinga, despite having a different personal stand.

He now states that he thinks the constitutional amendment should be done after the 2022 elections. According to him, it is not possible to do a reconstitution of the IEBC, delimitation of constituencies, a referendum and the general election within 12 months.

He further states that after the 2022 elections, the country should revisit the Bomas Draft.
