Deputy president William Ruto who is the presidential flag bearer for the Kenya Kwanza alliance, and Azimio la umoja One Kenya coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga are in a close scramble for influence as the country heads to the August general elections.
However, according to Makau Mutua, DP Ruto is headed for a loss in the coming general elections and that for the first time since 1997, the kenya kwanza alliance presidential candidate will be in the political cold.
Mutua believes that the UDA party leader stands no chance of getting any position both in the executive and the legislator and that political wilderness awaits him as he will taste very heavy defeat at the hands of Raila Odinga.
"Deputy president William Ruto will fall hard — very hard— on August 9th. For the first time since 1997 (when he was 31) — a quarter century — he will have no official position within the state either in the legislature or executive. He will become raia again. The political wilderness awaits," he said.
