Applying for Helb loan is a simple process. It's a contract between students and Helb, to sponsor their their higher education studies. Therefore, only students above 18 are eligible for the loan.
Among other things needed include KRA pin, guarantors, Bank account and both parents ID. Applicants are supposed to download helb forms from the website, fill it, advocate's stamp and submit it at their anniversary towers office or any huduma center in the country.
Once submitted, Helb verifies the documents and award loans according to merit.
One can track the status of their loan by logging in their helb portal.
The minimum loan one gets is 40000 Kenya shillings and maximum 60000 Kenya shillings. Needy students get an additional bursary of ksh 8000.
Students not satisfied with the allocated loan can appeal for increment.
Loans are dispersed at the opening of the semester to allow students to pay their fees and upkeep.
