Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Karanja Kibicho has taken on Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru for calling on President Uhuru Kenyatta to sack him for engaging in political affairs. Dr. Kibicho told Waiguru to leave him alone and stop meddling in his work.
“Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is not my supervisor and she should stop meddling in my work," he said.
Dr. Karanja Kibicho was speaking today at Wang'uru Stadium in Mwea Constituency during the issuance of driving licences to over 4000 boda boda operators.
The Interior Principal Secretary said the Governor had no moral authority to tell the Head of State to fire him. “It is the president who appointed me as principal secretary and he has not complained about how I go about my official duties. Kenyans who I serve are also happy with my work," he said.
The Interior Principal Secretary said that Waiguru should not blame him for her failure and that she should explain to the residents of Kirinyaga what she has done for them instead of hurling insults at him.
Dr. Kibicho was accompanied by Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici and her husband Andrew Ngirici. Kibicho noted that he was not scared of the governor and vowed to continue doing his work without fear.
