The higher education loans board is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament with the sole responsibility of financing students education. There had been public outcry due to late disbursement of higher education loans. The late disbursement occured due to adverse effects brought by the corona virus pandemic that interrupted the school calendar.
Many students whose fund for fees have not been disbursed by the loans board by the lapse of the deadline for fee payment have been making requests to be allowed to register for units pending release of the fund from the loans body.
In view of the foregoing, the university management has considered the request and approved that students appearing in the batches released by the loans board but whose funds have not been released be cleared by students finance section and register their units online.
However, students are asked to take note of the following:
1)only students appearing in loans fund allocation batches will benefit from the approval granted by the university management.
2)promissory notes issued to students by loans board will not be honored.
This is a good news to those who were in the process of missing classes due to late disbursement of loans.
