Manchester United And Chelsea Benefited From Controversial VAR Decisions Yesterday, Check The Proof


Manchester United had a 1-1 draw match against Fulham at Old Trafford while Chelsea edged Leicester in a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge. Both teams however benefited from VAR decisions that could have overturned their goals and maybe affect the final results.

Edison Cavani scored the first goal for the Red Devils in the first half, a goal VAR would have ruled offside. When David de Gea played the ball, the Uruguayan was in an offside position but quickly returned to be onside before the ball reached him as it was judged to be touched by Fernandes.

However, video replays showed that Fernandes didn't touch the ball and hence the goal should have been ruled out for an offside. To make matters worse, the Spaniard goalkeeper was accredited the assist.

On the other side, Chelsea had their second goal through Jorgihno's perfectly laid out penalty. Timo Werner was adjudged to have been fouled outside the penalty area by referee Mike Dean however after VAR consultation it was given as a penalty.

The error from VAR came when video replays showed very little contact on Timo Werner and hence could have easily been passed for a dive and a resultant yellow card for the German international.
