Following a severe downpour in Abuja on Tuesday, certain sections of the Nigerian National Assembly building roof began to leak and the chamber floor, particularly the White House foyer and some other parts of the building was quickly flooded with water. Cleaners were dispatched to set containers at the leaking areas to collect the pouring water to avoid flooding, the cleaners were also mopping and drying the area at the same time.
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, was still able to preside over the plenary despite the disturbance.
Remember that the National Assembly's leadership approved N37 billion for the building's renovation in 2020. Why then should there be such an occurrence on the building?
