Most parts of the country are expected to receive rains throughout the month this month of December. This is according to the Kenya Meteorological Department which on the forefront of informing Kenyans to be aware of climate change in the country.
The following parts of Kenya are expected to receive rainfalls from Tuesday to Sunday 12th December 2021. Highlands West of the of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, The Central and South Rift Valley and the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County. Average rainfall and storms are likely to be experienced for the next 7 days. Areas like Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, West Pokot, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Busia, Migori, Baringo, Nakuru, Narok and Laikipia shall receive rains in the morning while at night, few areas shall receive showered and thunderstorms.
Other areas including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Muranga, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka-Nithi counties are likely to receive morning rains accompanied with intermittent sunny intervals expected over a few areas. Showers are also expected in the afternoon and at night in few areas. Finally, morning rains are likely to occur in Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita Taveta while showers in the afternoon and night.
