Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, the Director-General of the Education Service speaking to journalists on Monday, 29th November 2021 said his outfit has put in place adequate measures to ensure a successful recruitment and posting of the newly trained teachers.

His comment comes after the Ministry of Finance (MoF) granted the Ministry of Education (MoE) financial clearance for the Education Service to recruit some 16,850 trained teachers into service before December 31, 2021.

According to him, the Management responsible for the recruitment and posting of teachers in the country in due course will open the recruitment portal for eligible and qualified trained teachers to submit applications.

“We can assure the College of Education teachers to be recruited and the public that plans are far advanced towards the opening of the portal for the recruitment of qualified teachers in a week or two from now,” Prof Amankwa stated in an interview on Joynews.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) Director-General further urged the soon to be employed trained teachers to be ready to accept postings to places where their services will be needed to improve the country’s education.

“An attempt to deny your place of postings will be forfeited by the applicant and the opportunity will be given to an interested applicant,” Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa warned 2020 College of Education batch teachers.

In a related development, the Minister for Education, Hon Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said the GES in the 2022 academic year will consider newly trained teachers from private Colleges of Education for recruitment.
