The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) distributes social assistance to almost 16 million needy South Africans each month, fulfilling its duty. Since 2006, this government agency has been in operation. When it comes to combating our society's crippling effects of poverty and unemployment, SASSA continues to be one of the government's flagship agencies, according to the organization's CEO. Through different social grants, SASSA seeks to eradicate poverty, strengthen social solidarity, and spur economic growth.
Prior to this adjustment, Sassa social funds were paid on the 1st of every month. When Covid-19 struck Mzansi, payment dates had to be spread out to guarantee social distance. To avoid overcrowding during month-end activities, the dates have to be changed a few days after the end of the month. Many people had hoped that the payments would arrive earlier in October than they had expected. Beneficiaries will be able to get their compensation starting on the dates announced by Sassa. Payments will begin on the 4th of October and continue through the 6th.
