The accomplishment of reaching the final of the CAF Confederations Cup gives Orlando Pirates a reason to celebrate, and the team's performance on the field has also won them a significant amount of financial reward.

Despite suffering a defeat in the semi-final second leg at Orlando Stadium on Sunday, the Buccaneers prevailed against Al Ahli Tripoli by a score of 2-1 on aggregate.

Their victory on the road by a score of 2-0 in Benghazi created the groundwork for their appearance in the CAF Confed Cup final on Friday in Nigeria, where they will take against RS Berkane.

After suffering a defeat in the first leg of the match in DR Congo by the score of 1-0, the Moroccan team defeated TP Mazembe 4-2 on aggregate thanks to an outstanding 4-1 triumph at home on Sunday evening.

And the Pirates' heroics on the field have also resulted in them pocketing some excellent prize money so far this season, as they have already already assured a windfall of R10.2 million as a result of their success.

Both of the competitors have already been awarded R10.2 million ($625,000) just for making it to this level of the tournament; however, there is still a chance to win twice as much over the remaining 90 minutes in Uyo on Friday.

The winner of the tournament will get R20.4 million ($1.25 million), which is more than twice as much as the prize money that will be awarded to the runners-up.
