For a period of time now, Deputy President William Ruto has been campaigning seriously for the presidential seat. He wants to sit on the top seat and for that reason, he has not been resting. Infact, it is said that one of the reasons Ruto fell out with President Uhuru Kenyatta is because of his early campaigns.
While that is the case, DP William Ruto never looked back. He has been matching forward and as the country heads to the August general election, the Second in Command has been intensifying his campaigns. That is because in recent months, he has been holding more than 100 rallies a month and the number keeps up rising. The bad thing is that some violence scenes have already been witnessed in the country and if things won't be controlled, then they can get messy. Ruto has already seen some of his rallies turning chaotic with the latest one being the Jacaranda meeting where police were forced to intervene to settle out matters.
Today, the DP was in Kibra, a place considered to be Raila Odinga's bedroom. The good thing is that there were no any kind of chaos and after that meeting, DP Ruto has broken his silence to send out a message to Baba and his other political rivals. Through his official twitter account, DP William Ruto stated that peaceful elections will allow Kenyans the right to elect leaders of their choice. He went on to tell his rivals that they should not employ violence as a means to defeat democracy and the will of the people to choose.
"DC grounds, Kibra Constituency, Nairobi County. Peaceful elections will allow Kenyans the right to elect leaders of their choice. Our rivals should not employ violence as a means to defeat democracy and the will of the people to choose." Tweeted DP William Ruto. Here is the link of the tweet showing DP William Ruto sending a message to Baba and his other rivals after Kibra meeting.
