A tipper truck crashed into the Tema tollbooth and ended up killing a cleaner damaged one out of the six tollbooth and injured six other persons.
On Monday in the early hours of 6:30 am the late koomso Kojo in his mid - sos had legs and arm severed in the accident. He passed away rushed together with other victims to tema general hospital.
One of the tollbooth attendant known as Ernest Narrowly exaped death as the concrete slab of the damage tollbooth collapse on him.
SP William Asante of the Tema Regional Motor Transport and traffic department (MTTD) told Ghana News Agency at the accident scene that it occurred when the driver of the tipper truck crushed in a salon car and the tollbooth in attempt to cross over .
He said "I have interrogate him myself where he wanted to pass there was a car parked there so he decided to go to where the salon car was entering it was a short distance so it could not save the situation but rather drive into it.
He added that the truck driver was in the custody of the police and would be charged for either careless or inconsiderate driving or dangerous driving indicating a testing officer would be engaged to test the accident vehicle to ascertain the cause after which a docket would be sent to the Attorney General Department for advice on the preferred charge.
