Make These Delicious Eggless Pancakes for Breakfast


Deciding what to cook for breakfast, or any meal can be a headache. Pancakes can be a lifesaver if only you knew how to make them perfectly. Don't worry, here is the secret.


Mix the dry ingredients separately from the wet ingredients.

The idea here is to avoid over-mixing the batter so as not remove all the air from the batter and to avoid producing gluten which will make the pancakes chewy.

When mixing the dry ingredients with wet ingredients, do not be too keen to remove l the lumps in the batter, they will not show in the pancakes.


The best thing about pancakes is that ratio is always 1:1 thus easy to remember

1 cup all purpose flour

1 cup milk

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 tablespoon water

1 tablespoon sugar

A pinch of salt

Some oil for cooking


Mix together the dry ingredients, that is the flour, the baking powder, salt, sugar. Ensure you mix them well.

Mix the milk, the oil and the water. (wet ingredients)

Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix just until all the flour has mixed with the wet ingredients. There's no need to remove all the lumps.

Let the mixture rest for a few minutes to allow the baking powder to react.

Place a pan on medium heat and some oil, just a little to grease the pan.

When the pan is hot, using a laddle, scoop the batter and pour it on the pan. Don't spread it. Let the pancake cook until some bubbles form on the surface.

Carefully turn the pancake and let it cook till golden brown. Remove from the pan.

Do this until all the batter is finished.

Serve the pancakes with some syrup and tea, coffee or your favorite beverage.

You can add cinnamon or cardamom to make the pancakes spicy. A tablespoon is enough.

You can also replace the milk with plain yogurt.
