UPDATED: FG directs schools to resume Jan 18 2021.

The federal government has given order for schools to reopen on January 18, 2021. It was stated that the decision was taken after the meeting with the stakeholders, which also includes commissioners of Education, Governors, Heads of Institutions and Staff Union.

This information was released through the director, press and public relations federal ministry of education, Sir Ben Goong on Thursday 14 January. He stated that the consensus at the meeting was that schools should resume on the 18th of January and that parents and institutions should ensure that the keep to the COVID-19 Protocols.

He stated that it was agreed in the meeting that all must wear facemask both students and teachers in all school. It was also agreed that there must be a compulsory temperature checks and also enough hand washing facilities at strategic points of the schools.

Sir Ben Goong also pointed out that the agreed in the meeting that all must must maintain social distancing and that there shouldn't be any large gatherings in the school. The also said that the school should have provide health facilities and also isolation center.

He stated that all these measures were to ensure safe reopening of the school and also to ensure the safety of the students.
