The Wiper Party led by Kalonzo Musyoka and the Amani National Congress Party led by Musalia Mudavadi has responded to Kenya African National Union Party Gideon Moi's plans to support ODM Raila Odinga's Presidency as Deputy President William Ruto sends a warning to the team.
According to the Wiper, Deputy Party Leader Senator Mutula Kilonzo has informed that they are not blocking Gideon Moi decamping from the One Kenya Alliance to join pact with the ODM party stating that the revival of the NASA will depend on how ODM will agree with Jubilee.
“Otherwise, all doors are still open for any person who wishes to leave. Nasa can be revived but that will depend on how ODM agrees with Jubilee. If ODM teams up with Jubilee, which is in coalition with Kanu, then definitely Kanu and ODM will be in one camp,” Senator Mutula Kilonzo has said.
Amani National Congress Deputy Party Leader Ayub Savula has also clarified that they have no problem with KANU decamping from the OKA and neither do they have a problem if Raila Odinga also wishes to join the One Kenya Alliance.
“We want to expand OKA and bring on board as many people as possible for the formation to have a national image. In essence, Raila also wants to be part of OKA,” Savula said.
However, despite the remarks by the two leaders suggesting that the teams might be planning to form a formidable team to help them drive their 2022 agenda and block DP Ruto's statehouse bid.
The Deputy President has warned that his opponent should be prepared for a tough battle going forward and that he too is prepared to face off their alliances.
"Hawa watu wanajipanga lakini hata mimi nimejipanga. Hawa wangwana watakiona, watajua hawajui (These people are preparing but I am prepared too. These gentlemen will find it rough)" Ruto vowed.
