If you fall under the category of the above people, read how you can protect yourself below:
1. Condoms are the number one trusted preventative measure of HIV.
It is very important to properly use condoms to prevent them from tearing up which may result in an unplanned pregnancy and put you at risk of contracting HIV.
2. There is now tablets called PEP and PREP.
-PEP-This is a medication that you will be given by a doctor if you have been exposed to HIV in the last 72 hours.
PEP works effectively when used in the 72 hours frame, the earlier you go to a doctor or clinic, the better.
