The Building Bridges Initiative Constitutional Amendment proposal has been endorsed by almost forty Counties across the country.
Kenyans were surprised when Bomet and Kericho counties which are allied to the deputy president William Ruto endorsed the proposal.
The deputy president who had been projected to reject the report seems to have joined the bandwagon of the yes team.
It will be hard for Ruto to lead a section of the rift valley into a no campaign. That would amount to isolation of a group that cannot defeat the rest of Kenya if they were to chose the No team.
BBI is in it's final stages at county levels where all Member of county assemblies are voting for or against before it goes back to kenyans for a popular poll.
Ruto would be so much drained if he were to lead a no team just a year to the 2022 general polls.
It is much more economical for the deputy president to save the BBI campaign energy for his 2022 presidential ambitions.
