Chelsea Women Football Club of England were in action on Wednesday night against Juventus Women in their second game of the Group A UEFA Women's Champions League at the Allianz Stadium.
The last season finalist were very impressive in the show of the night and as such got their first win of the new campaign following their 3-3 draw against VfL Wolfsburg in their opening game.
Their great influx of delivery helped them to bounce back to winning ways after their disappointing result in the first game against the German giant.
The first half of the game was such a balanced one between the two sides as there was nothing to separate them going into the half time break which ended one all draw.
Erin Cuthbert gave the visitor the lead in the 31st minute to make it one nil before the host got levelled with a goal from Barbara Bonansea to make it 1-1 at the break.
After playing out an intensed goalless first half, the tempo of the game got heated up in the second half as they both put up some physical, tactical and technical displays but none was able to add more to the tally of the night until the 69th minute when Pernille Harder gave her side the deserving lead yet again to make it two goals to one.
After several attempts from both sides to add more to the tally of the night, all were not successful as it ended two goals to one at full time.
The win for Chelsea has now taken them to the top of the Group A table with 4 points in 2 games played and as such be hoping to keep the winning streaks going in their next fixture, so as to continue their pursuit in the competition.
