Yesterday, President Uhuru Kenyatta led political leaders in a State House meeting that brought together different leaders to chart way forward concerning the Building Bridges Initiative.
Despite Ruto being a vocal politician and the second in command, he was a no show at the meeting, a move that attracted mixed reactions from political leaders allied to his camp and Kenyans at large.
Murang'a Senator Iriungu Kang'ata who joined the camp after being stripped off his Majority Whip's post in the Senate took to his Twitter account to bash the leaders present for leaving out the Deputy President.
"1Samuel 16 in the bible . Jesse brought 7 of his children to Samuel. The prophet asked ," where is the youngest? He is the one to receive the blessings".." he posted.
Earlier in the day, the president held a Cabinet meeting and his deputy was in attendance.
Yesterday's meeting came after 42 county assemblies voted in support of the 2020 Amendment Bill, paving way for the next stage towards constitutional reforms.
With only four counties remaining to make their decisions, only Baringo and Nandi counties voted against the bill.
