Sanctification

Text: John 17:13-23 Text: John 17:13-23

Memory verse: 2 Timothy 2:21 – if a man therefore purge himself from these he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified and meet for the master’s use and prepared unto every good work.

It is a complete and total separation from sin and evil. It is a period set apart for the purpose of being near God and get the in filling of the Holy Spirit. It is a work in progress period where a life of service to God and the fruits of the Holy Spirit is being formed and deposited in the sanctified life.

God wants us to be like HIM, hence the need for sanctification 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Therefore for you to be sanctified you must:

·        You must separate yourself from the world and believe in the word of God john 17:17

·        Set yourself apart and be closer to God so that the blood of Jesus will cleanse and purify you Hebrews 13:12

·        Must for a true follower of Jesus Christ john 17:19

·        It helps you to live blameless and holy life which is a vital condition to see God Hebrews 12:14b

If you surrender yourself and follow the above outlines, you will not struggle to

Live a holy life Ephesians 5:26-27

The gifts of the Holy Spirit will be evident in your life. Gala 5:22-23

Your inheritance in Christ is secured. Acts 26:18

You will be perfect in Christ. Hebrews 10:14

You will become a vessel unto honour. 2tim 2:21

Conclusion: If you want to be perfect, if you want to be one with Christ, if you want to behold God’s glory, if you want to operate in the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, if you want to make heaven at last: Be Sanctified!
