It is true that the government of Kenya has impeached some public and political leaders from powers. The Wajir Governor was also caught in this trap and impeached from his office.
The swearing- ceremony for the the Wajir new Governor is dated for Wednesday 19th 2021(tomorrow). Ahmed Ali Muktar will take the oath of office to become the 3rd Governor. This is a ceremony that is expected to be attended by local politicians and public figures in the entire North Eastern.
According to the Chairperson Abdullahi Maalim, the assumption of the the office of the governor committee confirmed the event would be held at the county headquarters beginning at 10am.
According to the report, Ahmed will succeed the running of the county affairs from his boss Mohammed Mohamud who was impeached by the county assembly Senate upheld on Monday May 17.
Governor Mohamud was accused of gross misconduct, abuse of office, corruption and other charges. At the county assembly 37 members voted to have him removed from the office.
The governor's biggest undoing was mismanagement of the health sector which ward reps in their petitions claimed had been grounded to a halt.
In addition, the Wajir MCA and witness Abdullahi Issac Mohammed had told the Senate committee that the governor's wife Kheira sat in the sessions between the assembly and the Governor.
Isaac stated that the governor had deligated his office duties to his wife Kheira by allowing her to run the county and left the roles that were supposed to be performed by him to her.
This is how he stated," For example, as an assembly, or everytime we meet the governor or in every sitting where the governor is supposed to address the assembly, the issues that are raised there are raised by the county's first lady." All these allegations led to the governor to be impeached and Ahmed, the deputy governor to rise and take the position of being the 3rd governor in Wajir in a swearing- ceremony that will be held on 19, May 2021.
