According to various reports, Man United have begun negotiations to sign Fiorentina's Nikola Milenkovic and are hopeful a deal in the region of £8.5 million could be agreed for the big centre back to switch to Old Trafford. Both Victor Lindelof and the Ivorian Eric Bailly have failed to impress playing next to United captain and record signing Harry Maguire. Solskjaer then is after new centre back reinforcements in the summer.
It is reported that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had submitted names if the three centre backs he wants to new director of football John Murtough. The list is believed to be made up of Sevilla's Jules Kounde, Villarreal's Pau Torres as well as the Fiorentina centre back Nikola Milenkovic. It has been gathered that while United are only prepared to offer £8.5 million for the defender, his club want between £15 to 10 million for his services. The 23 year old would also not demand a huge bill as he is currently on a salary of just £1 million a year at Florence.
United need a new centre back if they must shore up a defense that has let in way too many goals this season and close the gap to arch rivals Man City at the top of the table. Eric Bailly, who has come in to the squad a few times this season is said to be unhappy and considering his future elsewhere which is why he has halted contract talks.
